Welcome to Our Nursery! “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 Dear Parents, We want to welcome you and your family to come and visit Oakwood Baptist Church. What an opportunity and privilege it is to serve the Lord through the church nursery. Not only are parents able to hear the Word of God and perhaps be saved while their little ones are being cared for, but we have the honor of being one of the first influences to introduce God and His Word to some of these young souls. An infant or toddler does not have the capability of understanding God’s Word and being saved, but we can help plant the seed which may some day result in the child being won to Christ. Children at this age love simple Bible stories and enjoy being sung to. Our nursery workers will have a smile, a hug, and arms to cuddle the child(ren) in while we share the Lord with them through songs and stories. These outward demonstrations of our love can open the door to a child’s understanding of God’s love.
We feel that our nursery has the ministry of planting the seed of God’s Word in a young child’s heart. This is an exciting privilege to be a part of! We encourage you to come visit and see what the Lord is doing here at Oakwood Baptist Church. Note to parents: Please help us keep the nursery as healthy as possible.
We understand the difficulties you face when your child is ill. Therefore, we want to do all we can to protect him/her from the illnesses of other children. We hope you will be as considerate of other parents and children as you want them to be of you. Please do not bring your child if he: 1. Has a fever of 101 degrees or higher. 2. Has been vomiting or has had diarrhea within the last 12 hours. 3. Has matted, yellow discharge from eyes, or pinkeye. 4. Has a communicable disease such as measles, mumps, chickenpox, strep throat, impetigo, flu, roseola, etc. Cleanliness is an important factor in every nursery. We wash our toys following each service, and our sheets after each use. After each diaper change, our staff washes their hands and disinfects the changing area. We try to keep a happy, healthy, and safe environment for your child. |
